ZB Foundation Leadership Joins Rotary Club of Islamabad Cosmopolitan

The ZB Foundation is pleased to announce that our CEO, Naghma Qazi, and our Director of Programs, Ayesha Raza, have been inducted as new members of the Rotary Club of Islamabad Cosmopolitan. The Chief Guest for the occasion was His Excellency Nguyen Tien Phong, the Ambassador of Vietnam to Pakistan, who honored the new members with pins to officially mark their joining. We wish the new management and club board the best of luck for the year 2024-25.
Zahra Beau Welfare Foundation (ZBWF) launched first sample collection point for Newborn Screening at Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi

Zahra Beau Welfare Foundation (ZBWF) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the launch of the first sample collection point for Newborn Screening at Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umar (Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Imtiaz), Vice Chancellor of Rawalpindi Medical University, officially inaugurated the free Newborn Screening, recognizing it as a fundamental right for all newborns. Dr. Shabina Assistant Director Medical Facilities of the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination was invited to grace the occasion with her presence. In collaboration with Rawalpindi Medical University, The ZB Foundation has initiated a program to provide free newborn screening services at three major public hospitals: Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital. Holy Family Hospital serves as the starting point for this initiative. These hospitals, with the highest birth rates in the twin cities, will screen all newborns for Congenital Hypothyroidism, a leading cause of intellectual and physical disabilities in Pakistan.

We are thrilled to announce that The ZB Foundation has officially commenced Newborn Screening for Congenital Hypothyroidism at Holy Family Hospital, Rawalpindi. This significant milestone allows us to offer free screening to as many newborns as possible, marking a crucial step in enhancing public health services at one of the largest public hospitals in Rawalpindi. Health Services Academy (HSA), has joined hands with the Zahra Beau Welfare Foundation to promote basic newborn screening/early child health care services for masses in Pakistan in the field of public health. An agreement has been inked by the Vice Chancellor, HSA, Prof. Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan and CEO, ZBWF, Ms.Naghma Qazi on 29th February, 2024 in Islamabad.

Rawalpindi Medical University (RMU) has collaborated with the Zahra Beau Welfare Foundation (ZBWF) to enhance the provision of basic newborn screening and early child healthcare services to the public in Pakistan within the realm of public health. An official agreement was signed by Professor Dr. Omar (Sitara e Imtiaz), Vice Chancellor of RMU, and Ms.Naghma Qazi, CEO of ZBWF, in Islamabad in 2024.
